The iconic toys of the National Toy Hall of Fame® are celebrated in a gallery situated at the end of a magnificent winding staircase The Strong in Rochester, New York. Free with general museum admission, this expansive, interactive, artifact-rich gallery features both new and historic versions of classic toys beloved by generations.
The Strong is open 362 days a year. In 2014, the museum is closed only on September 19 (the Play Ball gala), November 27 (Thanksgiving Day), and December 25 (Christmas Day).

Friday & Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
Museum admission fees
Admission to the National Toy Hall of Fame is free with general museum admission fees.

The museum offers matinee pricing on general admission from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday during the school year with some exceptions. Matinee admission is not available on Fridays, weekends, holidays, or during school breaks. Matinee pricing is not available from July 1 through Labor Day and may not be combined with any other discount.

Two-for-one general museum admission is available to students with current college ID. (Both students must present valid ID.)
Active-duty military discount
A $2 discount on general admission fees is available to active-duty military personnel (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, and Navy) and his or her immediate family members who present appropriate and valid identification.

The National Toy Hall of Fame at The Strong is located at One Manhattan Square in downtown Rochester, New York.
Guests flying into the Greater Rochester International Airport will enjoy short flight times—less than 90 minutes—from cities such as Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Toronto, and Washington, DC. Once at the airport, a 10-minute taxi ride will bring you to The Strong, home of the National Toy Hall of Fame.
Easily accessible from the New York State Thruway and regional expressways, The Strong is only one hour by car from Buffalo, 75 minutes from Syracuse, and approximately six hours or less from cities such as Baltimore, Boston, Cleveland, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Toronto, and Washington, DC.
- From the West:
Take the New York State Thruway to Exit 47 (LeRoy). Take Interstate 490 East to Exit 15. Bear right onto South Avenue and then turn left onto Byron Street. At the light, make a left onto South Clinton Avenue. Turn right onto Woodbury Boulevard and continue straight into the The Strong museum entrance.
- From the East:
Take the New York State Thruway to Exit 45 (Rochester). Take Interstate 490 West to Exit 16 (Clinton Avenue/Downtown). At the first traffic light, turn right onto Woodbury Boulevard. At the next traffic light, cross Chestnut Street into The Strong entrance.
- From the South:
Take Interstate 390 North to Interstate 590 North. Follow Interstate 590 North to Interstate 490 West. Take Interstate 490 West to Exit 16 (Clinton Avenue/Downtown). At the first traffic light, turn right onto Woodbury Boulevard. At the next traffic light, cross Chestnut Street into The Strong entrance.
The Rochester, New York, region has more than 60 weekly Amtrak passenger rail departures from downtown. The rail station is within a short drive or walk of The Strong.
