Girl with slinkyThe iconic toys of the National Toy Hall of Fame® are celebrated in a gallery situated at the end of a magnificent winding staircase at The Strong's National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York. The National Toy Hall of Fame gallery, filled with examples of all of the inducted toys, offers guests the opportunity to play and explore as they learn about America's favorite playthings:

  • Dress up a giant Mr. Potato Head
  • Race a Slinky down a special staircase
  • Try your hand at play stations featuring iconic toys such as checkers, LEGO bricks, Lincoln Logs, Tinkertoys, and Atari
  • Marvel at an elaborate Lionel Train display and spot the iconic toys featured throughout
  • Swivel your hips with Hula Hoop, and more

Admission fees

Admission to the National Toy Hall of Fame is free with general admission to the National Museum of Play.

Adults: $13
Seniors (62 years and older): $12
Children ages 2 to 15: $11
Children younger than age 2: FREE
National Museum of Play members: FREE
ACM reciprocal members: FREE

The museum accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover Card. General admission does not include admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden®.

Museum hours

The National Museum of Play is open 363 days a year and closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. 

Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday & Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: Museum closes at 4 p.m. July 4
and is closed September 21.
