The iconic toys of the National Toy Hall of Fame® are celebrated in a gallery situated at the end of a magnificent winding staircase at The Strong's National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York. The National Toy Hall of Fame gallery, filled with examples of all of the inducted toys, offers guests the opportunity to play and explore as they learn about America's favorite playthings:
- Dress up a giant Mr. Potato Head
- Race a Slinky down a special staircase
- Try your hand at play stations featuring iconic toys such as checkers, LEGO bricks, Lincoln Logs, Tinkertoys, and Atari
- Marvel at an elaborate Lionel Train display and spot the iconic toys featured throughout
- Swivel your hips with Hula Hoop, and more
Hours of operation
The National Museum of Play is open 362 days a year. In 2013, the museum is closed only on September 20 (the Play Ball gala), November 28 (Thanksgiving Day), and December 25 (Christmas Day).
Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday & Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
Admission fees
Admission to the National Toy Hall of Fame is free with general admission to the National Museum of Play.

All children (ages 15 and under) must be accompanied by an adult.
The museum accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover Card. General admission does not include admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden®.
College student discount
Two-for-one general museum admission is available to students with current college ID. (Both students must present valid ID.)
Active-duty military discount
A $2 discount on general admission fees is available to active-duty military personnel (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, and Navy) and his or her immediate family members who present appropriate and valid identification.
